Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026. Plain language, no fine-print games.
Ava is an AI character, not a human. For adults 18+.
What Ava is
Ava is a fully synthetic, fictional AI companion for adults 18 and older. This policy explains what information the service stores so Ava can work, how it is used, and the controls you have over it.
What we store
- Your conversations. Your chats are stored with your account so your conversation history and continuity are there when you come back.
- Memories. Ava saves short notes — preferences, facts, and goals you share — so conversations feel continuous. She never saves passwords or payment details as memories.
- Your phone number. If you link a device or use voice calls, we store the number you verify. It is used to confirm the device is yours and to place and receive Ava's calls.
- Call information. If you talk with Ava by phone, we keep call records such as when a call happened, how long it lasted, and the minutes it used, so your balance stays accurate.
- Purchase records. Payments are processed by Square. We keep a record of what you bought (for example Ava Plus or a minutes pack) so your account gets what you paid for. We do not store your full card number — Square handles payment details.
- Product events. We record anonymous first-party product events — things like message counts and feature use — to run and improve the service. These events are not the content of your messages.
- Browser storage and one necessary cookie. Your browser keeps small local items, such as your age confirmation, so the site works on your device. Ava also uses one strictly necessary first-party cookie. It keeps the same Ava conversation attached to this browser, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off. It lasts up to 30 days, and the 30 days renew as you keep chatting. It is never used for advertising or to track you on other sites. Clearing all site data in your browser removes it — and so does the Delete my data control on the Trust & controls page.
How it is used
Your information is used to run Ava: keeping your conversations continuous, remembering what you asked her to remember, verifying your device, placing calls you request, applying your purchases, and keeping the service safe.
What we never do
- Your chats are private to your account. They are never sold.
- They are never shared with advertisers.
- They are never used to target you elsewhere.
Who helps us run Ava
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf so the product works: Square processes payments, and a voice provider carries the phone calls. They receive only what they need to do their part.
Your controls
- Memories page: review, edit, or erase anything Ava remembers, any time, on the memories page.
- Delete my data: the Trust & controls page has a "Delete my data" control that deletes your whole account and what Ava holds about you, and clears this browser. See "Deleting your account" below for exactly what is removed and what is kept.
- Questions or requests: use the report a problem form on the Trust & controls page and we will look into it.
Deleting your account
The Delete my data control on the Trust & controls page deletes your account and what Ava holds about you: your memories including their text, your conversations and messages, your settings, your call records, and the links between your devices and your account. Every signed-in device is signed out, and links sent to your phone or account stop working. Once deletion completes, your account and personal content are removed from our live database. There is no waiting period and no undo.
If you have Ava Plus or unused call minutes, they end with the account. They cannot be restored, transferred, or recovered afterward, because the account they belong to no longer exists. Deletion does not automatically issue a refund; refunds are governed by our existing terms.
What is kept, and why. We keep the financial records needed for accounting and payment reconciliation: the purchase record (amount, minutes, date, status, and the payment provider's transaction ids) and the credit ledger entries behind it. Your account id in those records is replaced by a one-way code, and notes and call references are removed — but the records are not anonymous: the payment provider's transaction ids remain, and the payment provider's own records can still be matched to them.
Backups. Backup copies can keep deleted data for a short time after deletion. We keep only the two most recent nightly database backups, and our database provider keeps automatic recovery points that can retain data for a limited recovery window. Backup copies are used only for disaster recovery, are not used to restore individual deleted accounts, and age out on their own schedule.
What we cannot delete. Square (payments) and our voice-call provider keep their own records under their own policies. Deleting your Ava account removes what Ava holds; it does not erase the payment provider's copy of a payment or the voice provider's call records.
Adults only
Ava is for adults 18 and older. You confirmed your age before entering, and the service is not directed to anyone under 18.
